Two domes at TEDx Chiang MaiJanuary 30, 2016

The TEDx Chiangmai event held at Le Méridien Chiang Mai, on Saturday 30 January gave locals and visitors an opportunity to experience some of the creative work of local businesses and organizations. In particular, guests had a rare chance to see the work of the FullDome Lab production studio in Chiang Mai.

During the event participants had the choice of lying back in a 5m indoor dome, which ran a livestream of the TED talks when they were in progress in the main hall, or sitting in the 8m closed dome, located on an outside balcony of the hotel.

Both domes proved popular and showed a selection of programs including Chiang Mai Deep Trip, the children’s animation Gopal: Prince of the Cow’s Planet and the educational adventure DinoPlanet, but the biggest hit of the day was Samskara, the collaboration between renowned digital artist Android Jones and FullDome Lab. Luckily TEDx coincided with a visit to Chiang Mai by Android Jones and the artist was gracious enough to attend the event, speak about the film and meet some of audience. Android and FullDomeLab are currently working together to create the next iteration of Samskara.

Congratulations to the organizers of TEDx Chiang Mai for an inspiring and well run event.
